What's new in Adobe Premiere 5.1? Premiere 5.1 is an update to version 5.0, released in May 1998. Over the past five months, Adobe have listened intently to our customers' needs and are pleased to provide a wealth of enhancements in this update. Improved performance Significantly faster rendering times for both Preview and Export "Smart" Preview files: use Preview files from the Timeline to dramatically reduce final export times Perform precise edits more quickly in the Trim window Timeline operations are faster and more accurate Multi-threaded performance: Transparency takes advantage of dual processors for faster compile times Batch Capture, Project Trimmer, and Timecode operations are more precise, enhancing Premiere's performance as a professional editing tool Windows 98, Mac OS 8.5, DirectShow 5.2, and Indeo 5.0.6 supported Enhanced QuickTime 3.0 capabilities QuickTime 3.0 audio compression lets you export Web-ready streaming audio files using Qdesign, Qualcomm, and other audio formats QuickTime 3.0 effects: a new plug-in (available soon) will add support for the built-in effects of QuickTime 3.0 Import QuickTime .dv files and work natively in the DV format QuickTime 3.0.2 supported User requests Now you can preview your video to RAM with all applied effects for faster previews of your projects Take advantage of DPS F/X for accelerated compiles using the DPS Perception Card Workflow enhancements Cut, Copy, and Paste are context menu choices Skip Previews is an option in the Open dialog box Work with up to 35 clips simultaneously in the source Monitor window Report Dropped Frames is now an option for video capture You can have the Load Project Settings window automatically appear each time you open Premiere Improvements to animated GIF files let you produce better Web-ready movies |
