Audio Images has relationships with over 200 different manufacturers. Our goal has always been to do a superior job for each manufacturer in terms of selling their products and taking care of our mutual customer. Many of the manufacturers have instituted MAP pricing policies or Minimum Advertised Price. Their goal is to make sure that the dealers make enough profit selling their products so that the dealers can stay in business year after year to support the customers.
A company wants to maintain their reputation and strengthen the dealer's ability to sell. The manufacturer creates a unique product and the high quality of their product, design, construction and technology has been proven to be very popular with all levels of consumers. The manufacturers work hard to differentiate their products in the marketplace. Many believe that a small group of educated, quality dealers can sell as much or more product than a larger network of uninformed, impersonal dealers.
Manufacturers believe that discounting products below a set retail price or minimum advertised price is detrimental to the perceived value of their product, name and image that we are all working hard to build. Any authorized dealer or internet seller that advertises below the MAP price is breaking their dealer agreements or may not be an authorized dealer and the manufacturer has no obligation to honor the warranty on sales from unauthorized dealers. Audio Images will always advertise at the manufacturer´s MAP price.
