Macromedia Flash 5 Support
Authorware 5.2 enables developers to import and control Macromedia Flash animations within Authorware. In addition to zooming, scaling, playing, and pausing Macromedia Flash content, Authorware can seamlessly integrate Macromedia Flash animations in response to the user's behavior.
Enhanced Calculation Editor
The Enhanced Calculation Editor provides syntax highlighting, formatting, and other useful features for authors scripting within the Authorware Calculation icon.
Windows Controls
The new Windows Controls Knowledge Object provides standard Windows controls including check boxes, radio buttons, combo boxes, and list boxes. Initial values of these controls can be tied to Authorware variables. This new Knowledge Object facilitates the development of software simulations and provides useful controls for user interfaces.
Assessment Knowledge Objects
Authorware 5.2 includes seven new Knowledge Objects that support standard assessment interactions such as hot spot, hot object, true-false, multiple choice, drag and drop, short answer, and single answer. Authorware also offers stand-alone Login and Scoring Knowledge Objects. The Scoring Knowledge Object accumulates student responses from selected questions and scores and tracks them. The Hot Spot Question is accessed from the Knowledge Object gallery. The Scoring Knowledge Object wizard helps authors assemble, score, and track student responses.
Data Tracking Improvements
Courses created with Authorware can now communicate with a wider range of learning management systems. Authorware's data tracking capabilities have been updated to track data to learning management systems that comply with the latest Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC) 2.0 specifications. Authorware also now supports JavaScript URLs, to communicate with learning management systems that support the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative's (ADL) JavaScript-based, run-time API for data tracking.
